Just chillin' together under the car. 'Cause why not?

Yes, we are leashed by our evil overlords. But they are fools;
I (Maple) squeezed out from my harness Friday night and hid from them.
I watched them with their flashlights, looking for me back here, but they missed me.
Then they searched the front. One of them went and walked up the highway over there,
then the other got in the car and drove around the block. Then I snuck out to the middle
of the neighbours back yard and waited to see if they'd come by for the tenth time.
Drat. Caught laying here. Won't she be mad when she gets back. I'll just pretend nothing happened.

They've upped their boxing game-they usually
take a whack at each other about 3 times a day,
but around 10/11 PM they go at it running and
rolling around in a ball. Highly amusing.
It looks like they do it in fun.

150906 A Halifax Landmark

Folklore: So...in Halifax in the 80's during a Canada Day Celebration, there was to be an novel aerial display. A plane flew over Citadel Hill and a parachutist jumped out. My guess is he would execute some display of Canadiana like a large flag unfurled or red and white smoke trailed from him. Whatever happened up there in the sky, his parachute didn't open--I'm not sure if he had a safety chute. He fell into the city onto this shed (in a previous owners my backyard), and bounced off and back to Earth. And he survived. So I'm told. That's why the shed is overall a bit crumpled, with a not original roof on it.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

150426 Street Painting

I found this painting in frame earlier tonight propped against a tree on the corner

of Charles and Clifton Streets. I think it's 'Partenkirchen' by CAROLUS 1957.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a mountain resort town in Bavaria, southern Germany. It is the administrative centre of the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in the Oberbayern region, and the district is on the border with Austria. Nearby is Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, at 2961 m (9714 ft.).

Garmisch and Partenkirchen remained separate until their respective mayors were forced by Adolf Hitler to combine the two market towns in 1935 in anticipation of the 1936 Winter Olympic games. Today, the united town is casually (but incorrectly) referred to as Garmisch, much to the dismay of Partenkirchen's residents.

I tried to shoot a 'Corky visits Partenkirchen' image, but he didn't stay put on the dining-room table long enough for me to light/compose it better. Maybe there's hope for the spider plant—he didn't touch it when he was beside it.

150425 4lbs later...

In the 6 or so weeks that Matt (below)—who I re-christened from Maple as he was picked up by Mom with
a lot more matting than when he got here—was visiting his friend Corky (above), Corky went from 13lbs to 17lbs.
He was eating his dinner, and then Matt's who ate sparingly.

It may be because Matt decided that he disliked going out in the ice and snow here at Duncan Street and
decided he'd go vegetarian. He began to nourish himself off my pretty spider plant on the dining-room table.
Corky soon joined him and began to eat that too. I'm still waiting to see if the plant will recover.
